PRIVATE LESSONS

For private lessons, I coach Basic Skills (beginners), Freestyle, Moves in the Field, Beginning Ice Dancing, Off-Ice Training, Choreography, Stroking, and Beginning Hockey.











I coach private lessons evening and weekend public skate session and select freestyle sessions. Please indicate whether you are interested in a reserved time slot or to be contacted for pick-up lessons.
 
LESSON RATES

Private Lesson Rate:  $35/30 minutes ($70/60 minutes) to be paid before or after the private lesson.  Cash or check accepted. Clients must buy the skating pass and skate rental at the front desk in addition to the cost of the private lesson.  Sometimes it is helpful to have the skater pay me when lessons run back-to-back as I am unable to leave the ice.

Note: You are not only paying for quality skating instruction, but for a reserved time slot for your child.  I understand that there are emergencies but (for example) if you are running 10 minutes late you will still be expected to pay for the entire time slot reserved in your name.

JOINT LESSONS

Per KCI Policy, I can only teach up to TWO students at a time. Please be mindful that each skater is unique and individual lessons can often be more productive than tandem lessons, depending on your skater's goals.
Note: If your student is taking a lesson with a friend, and that friend misses the lesson, the client is still responsible for the full payment of the lesson (not just half). 

COMPETITION RATES

Local Competition Rate:
$30 for the skater’s first event, $10 for additional event. Price negotiable based on location and LTS conflicts.

*No fee for music cutting & choreography
*No fee for events or shows at KCI
WHERE TO MEET
During public sessions (often busy) my lessons usually run back-to-back. Please have your skater ready to meet me in the circle in the middle of the rink. If they are unable to skate by themselves I will meet them by the entrance at their scheduled lesson. time.
During these sessions it can be difficult to pick out your child in a sea of skaters, even if I know them and "they are wearing their blue jacket". Your student may also be my first lesson of the session. If they do not see me on the ice at 2:55pm and our lesson begins at 3:00pm, it does not mean I won't be on the ice at 3:00pm!

CANCELLATION POLICY

I require a 24-Hour Cancellation Notice (except in the case of emergency or illness. Note: forgetting to tell me about a birthday party or social engagement does not qualify)  The client is responsible for the cost of the missed lesson.

Please use your best judgment when scheduling a time that works for you. If you know well in advance that you cannot attend lessons (i.e. planned vacations), for scheduling purposes I would prefer to know sooner rather than later. My contact information is listed below.

One purpose of this policy is fairness to skaters that only do pick-up lessons. IF I am able to fill the time slot with another student, the client will NOT be responsible for the cost of the lesson. This is standard operating procedure with the majority of KCI coaching staff.
